How to use client requirements

Paste the job post, run analysis, and use overlap, gaps, and extracted questions — without treating the match score as a hiring prediction.

Job analysis page

Open Analyze, paste the job text, and run analysis (you need a signed-in account). The tool tries to surface skill overlap, gaps, client questions, and a suggested angle. You can send that context into Generate.

Extracted questions on generate

On the generate screen, you can extract questions from the post and type answers. Those answers are included when the draft is created. If the post buried an instruction like “start with the word X,” check the original text yourself — extraction can miss it.

How to treat the match score

The score is a rough overlap between the pasted job and your resume text. It is not a prediction that you will be hired, and it cannot see your Upwork Job Success history. If a must-have skill is missing, do not let a medium score talk you into overclaiming.

Read [how to analyze an Upwork job](/guides/how-to-analyze-an-upwork-job) for a manual method you can use even without the analyzer.
